My brief story
I had a lifetime of trauma stored inside me.
I don’t need to tell the full story here. But like everyone else, life had taken it’s toll.
In future blog posts, I will certainly talk about specific issues that I had faced.
After trying various different types of therapy, I didn’t feel much better.
As a working class single father, I couldn’t afford “real” counselling. So I took what the NHS offers.
The waiting list for a referral is long. It can take several weeks to get seen (or heard)
I’m sure they try their best, but the experts didn’t seem interested in helping me at all.
Not sure what they could have acheived in 4 sessions anyway – which is all you get.
When you rely on your own solutions for healing, you fall back into your old pattens. For me this means isolating myself and pushing people away. I would overthink about everything, feeling confused, sad and angry.
Through 2020’s lockdowns, I learned to meditate.
Which was great at the start. It made a difference.
But eventually, as new issues arised in my life, my mind wouldn’t be still enough to meditate.
As I was looking for videos to help with meditation, I came across this thing called Breathwork.
That was when I entered the laybrinth.
The barriers
I found lots of videos online about the benefits of Breathwork.
I also found vidoes on how to do some of the high intensity ones (Wim Hof etc)
And I started breathing along with them. All of them.
But the one that I wanted the most was not to be found.
There were tons of videos of the evidence of “Trauma Release” breathwork.
I saw people crying in group sessions as years of their stored trauma left their bodies.
But there were no videos about how to do this type of breathwork.

I learned that you had to do this with a skilled practitioner, who could take you through the journey.
Personally, I did’t mind if I did it in a group setting, or on a 1-2-1 basis.
I just had to try it.
So in January 2023, I started looking online for local breathwork trainers who could help me.
And I hit a brick wall.
There weren’t many locally to begin with.
Of the ones I did find:
- Some didn’t answer their phones (or return messages)
- Some didn’t answer the CONTACT form on their website
- Some didn’t reply to DM’s on Instagram or Linked In
- The one I ended up speaking to was just OUT OF MY PRICE BRACKET!
I mean fair play to her if she can charge that and people pay it. I get the whole concept of “self value” and “pay for the best” – but simply put, I could not afford that in the slightest.
I had to find an alternative.
So I did the only logical thing I could think of:
Decide to become a trainer myself!
I found a course that would first let me learn as a student.
And then, train me to become a Trainer myself.
Once I started, I never looked back. Immersing myself into the lessons felt like I was obsessed.
I completed all the modules. I studied more than was necessary. I loved every minute of it.
I quickly noticed loads of changes in my life.
My resting heart rate dropped. I felt much more relaxed. I didn’t react to things around me
6 months later, I aced my exams (I got 100%) and qualified as a Breathwork Instructor.
Affordable & Accessible
And so here starts the new chapter.
Breathwork has changed my life – I say that all the time.
So why was it so hard to find a good place to learn?
I mentioned above that it was a real challenge to work with a good practitioner.
I am very determined and I found myself giving up trying to find the right person.
So I am certain most people would do the same.
It is my pledge to make Breathwork MUCH MORE ACCESSIBLE.
I will have a Class schedule to suit all experience levels and needs that will go live very soon.
People will be able to contact me and ask questions and I will be easy to reach.
Another big hurdle is the cost.
Most Breathwork classes are very expensive in my opinion.
Booking online is costly enough, but doing sessions in person is just not practical in the current economy.
It is my pledge to make Breathwork MUCH MORE AFFORDABLE.
Ethics & Integrity
I am not on a mision to “get rich” – not in the slightest.
This project is based on a desire to help people and make POSITIVE IMPACT in the community.
On that basis, I will always act in accordance of the wonderful teachings of the Yogis who introduced Pranayama to the world.
I will act with Kindness, Love and with only the intention of helping my fellow human souls.
I want to live a life of no judgment. Everybody is free to practice how they want to practice.
Things I have observed:
- some breathwork instructors are claiming huge things like instant transformations.
I will always say that Breathwork is a regular (daily if possible) practice that can have a profund impact on your life. But you shouldn’t expect miracles immediately.
It doesn’t work like that. Just managing expectations.
- some breathwork instructors only offer one type of breathwork, which they swear by and insist is the only one that people should do.
I will always maintain that there are many different types of exercises which can be practiced. So I will offer the full variety and use the ones which are necessary for that particular human being.
Some Breathwork exercises energise and are high intensity. Others are used for calming and entering into meditative states. There is no “one works for every scenario” situation here.
So it really is wise to use the right tool for the right job.
- some breathwork instructors will keep emailing you. Every day. And every single email has a sales link in it.
I get that this is a business. But if you are kind enough to join my Positivi-Tea Newsletter, I will email you once a week.
I will let you know what classes are coming up, but there won’t be any pushy sales tactics.
- some breathwork instructors will call themselves a guru, or act like they are “better” than you. Some will say that they are healed. Some will say that they are not just breathwork practictoners, but also life coaches, business coaches, mindset coaches and you should listen to them more than your doctor!
I am just one of you. I am not a psychologist. I am not a counsellor. I am not a Therapist. I am not a life coach. And I am not a motivational speaker.
I am someone who is on their own healing journey, that found this really cool set of techniques that have helped me massively, and wanted to share them with others – so that they could heal a bit too.
WANAP Breathwork
So that is a summary of what WANAP Breathwork is.
WANAP is a project that is all about healing and improving mental health.
Breathwork is a great tool to do both of those things.
Along the way I will offer sessions as part of a regular practice that can help you.
No gimmicks. No fluff.
Just tried and tested breathing exercises. Some Positive affirmations. And funky music.
We will act in accordance with the core values of our project.
Acting from the heart with good intentions.
The mission will always be to improve one person’s life EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Who can work with us?
