Children’s Mental Health Week 2025

Today is the start of Children’s Mental Health Week which is aimed at raising awareness around the topic of mental health.

I firmly believe that these are THE MOST IMPORTANT conversations that society needs to be having right now.

Teaching young people about what mental health is but also preparing them so that they are best equipped to look after their own mind and also the minds of their friends and loved ones has to be the priority,

As a parent, that is the ultimate responsibility – to raise your children so that they can handle life on their own.

The big challenge of this is – how do we teach others what we are not able to do ourselves? 🤔

My observation is that there are so many of us walking around unhealed. Unaware that we even need healing. Unable to manage the stresses of daily life. And unknowingly, passing all of that on to our kids.

So the message here is:

The healing you do, your child won’t have to do.

Heal, because your children deserve the best version of you.

This is not a judgment or a criticism.

As parents, we are all trying to do our utmost best with the cards we are dealt.

NONE of us are perfect.

But I feel Children’s Mental Health Week is definitely a perfect opportunity to take some time and analyse your own journey and what you can do to improve.

This quote is the most impactful one you will read:

Heal – so your children don’t have to heal from having you as a parent.

Below is a list of things you can do in conjunction with your child to improve both of your mental health – and they all cost relatively nothing:

Walk in Nature. Get more active.

Talk about feelings and emotions.

Put electronic devices away 1 hour before bedtime.

Drink more water.

Practice mindfulness – if you want to know some basics about this, then come and join me on the “Basics for Children” Breathwork Session.

It is absolutely free and you can do it from the comfort of your own home.

You can REGISTER HERE – hope to see you at the session.

If we are going to raise children that are going to be the leaders of tomorrow, then it is on us to do that NOW.

Sending you BIG BLESSINGS for your journey.
